I named it after people.
People as the "Pieces of Peace" {poem link}.
The makers and breakers.
And, without realizing it, I began writing a concluding post that was all about the best part of my trip: people...
..life, growth, home, adventure, learning, talking, loving, eating, drinking - living - doing life together, in the midst of whatever.
Just being... not alone, but together.
This conclusion is just another state of transition. This journey isn't finished, because my relationships - the purpose of the trip - persist, beyond borders.
We are held together whether we like it or not - for better for worse, it has been said.
Though no two contexts are the same, we learn that whether it is over seas within occupation, or deep in our own homes, we build bridges through relationships: the stuff of life - and we fight injustice with love - whether that love is easy or not. We make mistakes together, and we forgive and fix together. If we cannot thrive where we are, we escape to find others who receive us with open arms, a warm meal, and a bottle of wine. We open to one another in this life... because we're all in this together... till death due us part. Under the umbrella of us all, huddle into the warmth of those around you, no man is an island...
Letting go of the politics, the religions, the war; I will never forget the lives that penetrated and healed so much within my own self over the last two months - as vivaciousness was awoken in me through pain and poetry, as people - the pieces of peace - took the time to talk, eat, and be with me. Through the simple things we enabled ourselves to change one another; transitioning together through the ebb and flow of our beautiful, harsh, simply confusing lives:
Together under the blue sky...
With much gratitude,
xx

Let go of religion,
and listen.
really listen...
"But when Yeshua saw the crowds, he went up into a mountain and when he sat down his disciples came near to him. And he opened his mouth and he was teaching them and he said:
Blessed by The Spirit are the poor, because theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are they who are meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.
Blessed are those who show mercy, for mercies will be upon them.

Blessed are those who are pure in their hearts, for they shall see God.

Blessed are they who make peace, for they will be called the children of God.
Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the cause of righteousness, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
Blessed are you whenever they revile you and persecute you and they say every evil word against you for my sake, in falsehood. Then rejoice and triumph, because your reward is great in Heaven, for just so they persecuted The Prophets who were before you."
Let's bring it together, people!
:)
